Mary Rose Reimherr passed away on February 16, 2013 at the age of 92 at Samaritan Hospital.

The youngest of four children, Mary was born on August 15, 1920 to Simon and Anna Sabaitis in Bridgewater, MA. She graduated from Bridgewater High School and then received her RN from Sturdy Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Upon graduation she enlisted in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant to serve her country during World War II. She was stationed on Guam where she met and fell in love with John P. Reimherr, a Lt (jg) in the Cee Bees. They left Guam in 1944, John returning to civilian life to pursue a career as a general contractor in Georgia while Mary remained in the Navy with orders to work in Chelsea, MA. Somehow they managed to keep in touch because on November 30, 1946 they were married. Mary had a difficult time getting her discharge papers but finally did and was able to join John in Georgia. After a short time they moved to Troy, NY where they had two children and then moved to Schenectady where they set down roots and remained for sixty years. Mary worked very hard as a stay at home mom where she prided herself in maintaining a spotless home, pressed laundry, homemade meals, vegetable gardens, special touches of waking up to freshly squeezed orange juice in bed each morning, and home made deserts every evening. When John started his own contracting business in 1972, Mary worked as his Office Manager. Mary and John enjoyed traveling with close friends to Great Britain, Europe, and the Far East but their favorite get away spots were Maine and Bermuda. Mary is preceded in death by her siblings, her grandson "JP" Reimherr and her husband John.

She is survived by her son J. Philip Reimherr, M.D., his wife Katherine, and their daughter Elizabeth; her daughter Carol Horch, husband Robert, their children Christopher, Matthew and his wife Melissa, and Michael. We would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to all those who took care of Mom these last few years, especially Roz and Jim Hurley of HomeInstead Senior Care, Kingsway Assisted Living, The Eddy at Hawthorne Ridge, Lang's Pharmacy, and the doctors and nurses at Samaritan Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Gerald B. H. Soloman Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. We love you, Mom, and will miss you.
